The ACCUPRO 14797002 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool delivers excellent hardness and heat resistance during high-speed cutting. The single-end, stub-length design features a 0.033-inch cutting diameter, a 30-degree helix angle, and 2 right-hand spiral flutes. It is centercutting, allowing plunge cuts in addition to peripheral milling. Machinists and toolroom operators use this end mill for slotting, profiling, and contouring on ferrous and nonferrous materials where tight tolerances and fine detail work are required.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills handling small-diameter, detail-intensive work. The stub length-of-cut format limits deflection, which is critical when holding tolerance on fine features in hardened or abrasive materials. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found on benchtop and production CNC equipment, making it a practical choice for die and mold work, medical component machining, and precision prototype operations.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers or manual vertical mills where small-diameter square end mills are required.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully and evenly in a clean, burr-free collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before use, as microchipping is difficult to detect visually at this diameter. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits before committing to a finish pass, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a tool of this diameter.
