The ACCUPRO 14796963 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and alloy workpieces. With a 0.049-inch cutting diameter and four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, this tool delivers clean, accurate cuts in tight-tolerance applications. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup and improving surface finish. The micrograin carbide substrate offers consistent hardness and wear resistance across the cutting edge. This end mill is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is built for high-precision work in small-feature milling, including slots, pockets, and contour paths in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 0.147-inch length of cut falls within the 0.100- to 0.200-inch LOC range, making it appropriate for shallow-depth passes in detailed workpieces. The 0.125-inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems. Single-end construction is standard for this diameter class. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and precision part production where small-diameter tools are required.
Designed for use in standard collet systems accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter. Part of the ACCUPRO ASQSC4-AT-CC-30H series of AlTiN-coated square end mills. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for small-diameter solid carbide tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to achieve the shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 / -0.0003 inches. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to deflection and breakage. At this diameter, conservative feed and speed selection is critical — consult the manufacturer cutting data or a speeds-and-feeds reference for the specific workpiece material before running the tool.
