The ACCUPRO 14796928 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining and manual mill applications. It carries a 5/64 inch (0.0780 inch) cutting diameter, a 15/64 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch shank diameter, making it well suited for tight-tolerance slotting, profiling, and plunge cuts in confined workspaces. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) finish improves heat resistance and extends tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With a 30-degree helix and spiral flute geometry, chip evacuation is efficient even at aggressive feed rates. This tool is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production environments, and maintenance machining operations.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and precision die milling operations where a small-diameter, high-rigidity tool is required. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. It is appropriate for milling aluminum, steel, stainless, and hardened materials where AlTiN coating performance is an advantage. The 2-flute configuration provides adequate chip clearance for both slotting and profiling passes in moderate-to-hard materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/8 inch collet or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This tool is installed by machinists using a compatible 1/8 inch collet, ER collet chuck, or end mill holder — verify holder runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tooling. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling per standard machine shop lockout/tagout procedures. Avoid side-loading beyond the rated length of cut, as small-diameter carbide end mills are susceptible to deflection and breakage under lateral overload. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate against the material being cut before running.
