The ACCUPRO 14796917 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard plastic workpieces. With a 0.049-inch cutting diameter and a 0.147-inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work, slotting, and profiling in tight-tolerance applications. The 2-flute configuration promotes chip evacuation in shallow pockets and slots. A 30-degree helix angle balances cutting pressure and surface finish. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers edge retention and rigidity at small diameters where deflection and breakage risk are highest. Machinists and toolroom operators select this end mill for micro-milling work where dimensional accuracy is critical.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills handling small-scale precision work in production and prototype environments. The single-end, bright/uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for non-ferrous metals, aluminum alloys, brass, and similar materials where coating adhesion or heat buildup is less of a concern. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and small-diameter end mill holders commonly used in high-speed spindles and bench-top CNC machines. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard orientation for conventional milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill compatible with standard 1/8-inch ER collet chucks and small-diameter end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following safe tooling change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended grip depth in the collet or holder to minimize runout and deflection risk. At 0.049-inch diameter, this tool is highly susceptible to breakage from excessive feed rates, improper runout, or insufficient coolant flow — verify setup parameters before cutting.
