The ACCUPRO 14796890 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. At 0.015 inches in diameter with a 0.045-inch length of cut, this tool is built for micro-milling work where dimensional accuracy is critical. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and rigidity needed at this diameter range, and the AlTiN coating adds heat resistance for improved tool life in harder workpiece materials. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting and flute direction, it delivers clean chip evacuation in spiral flute geometry. A licensed machinist or tooling specialist typically specifies and installs this end mill in CNC machining centers or precision manual mills.
This end mill is suited for micro-milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials, particularly where small-feature geometry is required. The 0.125-inch shank diameter fits standard 1/8-inch collets and tool holders commonly found in CNC machining centers and die-and-mold work. The AlTiN coating makes it a practical choice for hardened steels and high-temperature alloys where uncoated carbide would wear prematurely. Its regular-length designation and 1.5-inch overall length keep the tool compact for minimal runout and maximum rigidity in shallow-depth applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and precision mills equipped with 1/8-inch collets or tool holders accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder specification. At this diameter, runout at the cutting edge should be verified with a dial indicator before production to minimize tool breakage risk.
