The ACCUPRO 14796287 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision miniature milling applications. It features a 0.0156-inch mill diameter, a 0.005-inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle. The cutting edges are coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) for elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 1/8-inch shank, this single-end centercutting tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-part machining environments. Micrograin carbide substrate supports rigidity at reduced diameters where tool deflection is a primary concern.
This end mill is suited for high-speed CNC milling of small features, slots, and contoured profiles in ferrous metals, stainless steel, and hardened alloys. The miniature series designation indicates it is optimized for micro-scale cuts where standard-diameter tooling cannot reach. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace component finishing, and precision instrument part machining. The center-cutting geometry allows for direct plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. A 0.045-inch length of cut keeps the engagement zone short for maximum stiffness at this diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fitment cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8-inch collet or toolholder systems accepting miniature-series solid carbide end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank fully within the collet to the recommended grip depth before torquing the collet nut. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the cut, as runout at miniature diameters accelerates tool wear and can cause breakage. Inspect the AlTiN coating and cutting edges for chipping before each use.
