The ACCUPRO 14788667 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of complex contoured surfaces, pockets, and 3D profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.188 inch cutting diameter and a 1 inch length of cut, this tool delivers consistent performance in tight-tolerance applications. The AlTiN+ coating provides enhanced heat resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in high-speed and dry cutting conditions. Three flutes with a medium flute type balance chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The cylindrical shank diameter matches the cutting diameter at 0.188 inches, making tool holding straightforward in standard collet or end mill holders.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and multi-axis equipment used in tool and die, mold making, aerospace component production, and general precision machining. The ball nose geometry makes it the standard choice for finishing passes on curved or sculpted surfaces where a flat end mill cannot maintain consistent contact. It is appropriate for use in both production and prototype environments where dimensional accuracy on profiled features is required. Machinists and CNC programmers working with hardened steels, stainless, and high-temp alloys will benefit from the AlTiN+ coating at elevated feeds and speeds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production ball end mill compatible with any CNC or manual milling machine equipped with an end mill holder or collet accepting a 0.188 inch cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended minimum insertion depth before torquing the retention nut or set screw. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or burrs that could cause runout before tightening.
