The ACCUPRO 14788590 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and 4 spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction. The 6 inch overall length combined with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut makes it well suited for reaching into slots, pockets, and profiling passes. The AlTiN+ coating provides enhanced heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting hardened steels, stainless, and high-temperature alloys. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for both plunge and peripheral cuts. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool and die professionals.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, improving tool life and surface finish compared to a sharp-corner end mill. The 1 inch shank diameter requires a collet, end mill holder, or hydraulic chuck sized to match. Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with toolholder torque requirements and machine spindle specifications. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully de-energized and stationary before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify that the collet or toolholder bore matches the 1 inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated to the correct gauge length before beginning a cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for appropriate feed rates, speeds, and depth of cut based on workpiece material.
