The ACCUPRO 14788588 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with 4 helical flutes and a centercutting geometry, this tool is capable of plunge cutting as well as conventional side and slot milling. The mill diameter measures 0.438 inches (7/16 inch) with a matching 0.438-inch cylindrical shank, and provides a 1.5-inch length of cut. Overall tool length is 6 inches. Solid carbide construction delivers high rigidity and wear resistance compared to high-speed steel alternatives, making it a reliable choice for production and toolroom environments.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where tight tolerances and clean finishes are required. The helical flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during side milling, slotting, and light plunge operations. No chipbreaker is present, and extended reach is not a feature of this tool, making it best suited for standard-depth applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops or production facilities will find this tool appropriate for aluminum, brass, mild steel, and similar workpiece materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-installation solid carbide square end mill for standard 7/16-inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a collet chuck, end mill holder, or set-screw holder sized for a 7/16-inch shank. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, and verify that tool length offset is updated in the machine controller before beginning a cut. Follow the tool manufacturer guidelines and shop safety procedures for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
