The ACCUPRO 14788520 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built with four spiral flutes and a 0.0450-inch corner radius, it produces smooth, radiused edges while maintaining tight tolerances on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The AlTiN+ coating improves heat resistance and tool life in high-speed and dry-cutting environments. At 1/4 inch in diameter with a 3/8-inch length of cut, this end mill is suited for detail work, slot milling, and profiling passes where a small-diameter, rigid tool is required. Installation and use are handled by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual milling machines where a 1/4-inch shank toolholder is available. Wait — the shank diameter on this tool is 1 inch, while the cutting diameter is 1/4 inch, making it a reduced-neck or stub-reach configuration appropriate for setups requiring added rigidity at the spindle interface. The 2-inch overall length keeps the tool compact and minimizes deflection. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge cuts and ramp entries without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Typical applications include die and mold work, fixture machining, and contour milling in steel, stainless, cast iron, and high-temp alloys.
Designed for use in milling machines and machining centers accepting a 1-inch shank diameter toolholder. Centercutting design is compatible with operations requiring plunge, ramp, or helical interpolation entry.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 1-inch shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm cutting direction matches the right-hand spindle rotation of the machine.
