The ACCUPRO 14788462 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 0.1250 inch cutting diameter with a 0.0200 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in aggressive applications. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with AlTiN+ coating provides excellent heat resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. With a 0.5000 inch length of cut and 1.5000 inch overall length, this single-end, centercutting tool handles both plunge and peripheral milling operations. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC milling machines use this end mill for finishing and semi-finishing passes.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers handling mold work, die cavities, and close-tolerance profiling operations. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. The AlTiN+ coating performs well in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting environments and holds up in steels, stainless, and cast iron. The 1 inch shank diameter provides a rigid, secure fit in standard ER collet chucks or end mill holders commonly found in production and toolroom environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard toolroom end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders accepting a 1 inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per OSHA and shop safety protocols. Secure the shank to the full recommended gauge-line depth in the holder and torque the collet nut with the appropriate spanner wrench to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the collet and holder bore for runout before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates corner radius wear. A licensed machinist or qualified CNC operator should verify feeds, speeds, and depth of cut parameters before production use.
