The ACCUPRO 14788450 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting, die-and-mold work, and general machining applications. Built with three helical flutes and a centercutting geometry, it supports both peripheral and plunge cutting without a separate pilot operation. The mill diameter and shank diameter are both 0.375 inches, and the length of cut is 1.5 inches, giving it a well-proportioned reach-to-diameter ratio suited to slotting and profiling in tighter setups. Overall length is 6 inches. Solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance compared to high-speed steel alternatives, making it a practical choice for harder workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills running appropriate speeds and feeds for carbide tooling. Its 3/8-inch cylindrical shank fits standard ER and set-screw style toolholders in that bore size. The centercutting capability makes it effective for pocket milling where the tool must enter the workpiece axially before profiling. It is typically installed and changed by machinists, tool-and-die makers, or CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-install carbide square end mill for any toolholder accepting a 3/8-inch cylindrical shank, including ER16, ER20, and comparable collet systems.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or powered-down state. Use a calibrated torque wrench when tightening collet nuts to avoid over-clamping the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool before beginning a cut. Always confirm appropriate speeds and feeds for solid carbide in the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
