The ACCUPRO 14788402 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. This center-cutting, three-flute tool features a 5/16 inch (0.3130 inch) mill diameter and a 3/4 inch length of cut, making it well suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and light to moderate material removal. The helical flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Solid carbide construction delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC setup technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is appropriate for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines where a standard 5/16 inch cylindrical shank toolholder or collet is used. The 2-1/2 inch overall length fits standard toolholding setups without requiring extended-reach adapters. The center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry into workpieces, expanding its utility across a range of milling strategies. It is suited for aluminum, brass, mild steel, and similar machinable materials in both production and prototype applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for milling machines and machining centers accepting a 5/16 inch cylindrical shank toolholder or collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or toolholder. Verify collet bore size matches the 5/16 inch shank diameter before clamping. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material, as solid carbide tools are rigid but susceptible to chipping under excessive lateral load or vibration.
