The ACCUPRO 14788360 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 5/16 inch (0.3130 inch) mill diameter and 2 helical flutes, this centercutting end mill removes material efficiently in both peripheral and plunge cuts. The overall length is 3 inches with a length of cut reaching 1-1/8 inches (1.1250 inches), providing solid reach into workpiece features without sacrificing rigidity. Solid carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and CNC operators select this geometry for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where dimensional accuracy is required.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines equipped with a 5/16 inch collet or end mill holder. The cylindrical shank seats securely in ER collets and similar toolholding systems. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece, making it practical for closed-pocket work and ramping operations. The helical flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, which matters on lighter-duty machines or when working with tighter tolerances. This tool is appropriate for job shops, production machining, and toolroom applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 5/16 inch square end mill applications using ER collets, end mill holders, or compatible cylindrical-shank toolholding systems on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the end mill. Ensure the shank is fully engaged in the collet or holder to the recommended grip length before torquing the clamping nut. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or contamination prior to assembly, as debris can cause runout and premature tool failure.
