The ACCUPRO 14777956 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in profiling and finishing operations. With five flutes and a right-hand spiral flute geometry, the 14777956 delivers smooth chip evacuation and a fine surface finish. It carries a Bright/Uncoated finish suited to aluminum applications where coating buildup on the flutes would be counterproductive. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production machining facilities, and tool rooms.
The 14777956 is optimized for aluminum milling applications as designated by its AL-5 series classification. The single-end configuration, straight-cylindrical shank, and 3 inch overall length make it compatible with standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 36-degree helix angle supports aggressive material removal rates in aluminum while the chipbreaker geometry aids chip control during deep slotting or pocket milling. This end mill is not center-cutting, so it is intended for side milling, profiling, and ramping entry rather than plunge cuts.
Designed for use in aluminum milling applications per the AL-5 series designation. Fits standard straight-cylindrical collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. This end mill is not center-cutting and must not be used for direct plunge operations. Ensure the workholding setup is rigid and that spindle RPM and feed rates are appropriate for a 3/8 inch carbide end mill in the intended material.
