The ACCUPRO 14556415 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. Built to Series 6/44 standards, it features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 7/8 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part transitions and extends tool life in high-cycle applications. The micrograin carbide substrate and AlTiN+ coating provide thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures. This tool is a single-end, centercutting design with a right-hand spiral flute and right-hand cutting direction, making it suitable for plunge entry and conventional or climb milling passes.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where a radiused corner is required. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders without extension. Typical applications include aerospace component finishing, die and mold work, and general precision part machining where AlTiN+ coating provides an advantage over uncoated or TiN-coated tooling in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 3/8 inch shank end mill holders and collet systems requiring a Series 6/44 corner radius end mill with AlTiN+ coating and micrograin carbide construction.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm the shank diameter tolerance of +0.0001 inch to -0.0004 inch is maintained at the holder interface. Follow machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for the collet nut or set screw; do not use this tool in a drill chuck.
