The ACCUPRO 14556405 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 3/8-inch diameter, a 0.015-inch corner radius, and 4 spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction and 40-degree helix angle. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting applications. At 2 inches overall length with a 5/8-inch length of cut, this is a stub-length configuration that maximizes rigidity and reduces deflection during aggressive cuts. Centercutting capability allows for plunge milling operations without a pre-drilled entry point.
This end mill is suited for machining operations in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments where tight tolerances and surface finish consistency are required. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high cutting speeds in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The straight cylindrical shank and single-end design make it compatible with standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems. It is well-suited for finishing passes, contour milling, and corner blending where a small radius is specified by part geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production corner radius end mill for use in conventional and CNC milling machines accepting a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety protocols. Ensure the shank is seated fully and evenly in the holder to the recommended grip length before torquing the retention system. Inspect the collet or chuck for wear before seating, as an out-of-tolerance holder will compromise runout and tool life. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable ANSI B11 safety standards for milling operations.
