The ACCUPRO 125997 is a solid carbide roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. It features a chipbreaker geometry along three flutes that breaks chips into manageable segments, reducing heat buildup and cutting forces during heavy roughing passes. The 5/8-inch mill diameter pairs with a matched 5/8-inch straight cylindrical shank for secure toolholder engagement. A 0.03-inch corner radius adds edge strength at the cutting periphery. Built from submicron carbide grade, this tool is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals running CNC or manual milling equipment.
This roughing end mill suits high-volume stock removal on a range of workpiece materials where chip control is a priority. The 2.5-inch length of cut accommodates moderate depth applications in vertical and horizontal milling setups. Right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute direction with a high helix style make it appropriate for climb or conventional milling on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish is suitable for applications where coating compatibility with the workpiece or cutting fluid is a concern. Single-end configuration means the tool is replaced rather than reversed at end of life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement roughing end mill for use in standard 5/8-inch bore milling chucks, collet holders, and end mill holders with straight cylindrical shank retention.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with milling toolholder procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention fastener per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use.
