The ACCUPRO 12465479 is a miniature ball end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a small-diameter cutting tool. Built from solid carbide micrograin material, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for tight-tolerance work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.0400-inch cutting diameter and 0.0600-inch length of cut make it suited for fine detail work, shallow profiling, and contouring passes. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while reducing cutting forces. This tool ships uncoated in a bright finish and is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC mills or precision manual equipment.
This end mill is suited for miniature milling applications in job shops, toolrooms, aerospace component work, and medical device manufacturing where small-diameter cutting tools are required. The single-end configuration and 1.5-inch overall length allow it to fit standard 1/8-inch collets and tool holders used in compact or high-speed spindles. It is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and 3D contouring in materials where micrograin carbide provides a meaningful edge-life advantage over high-speed steel alternatives.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and precision mills equipped with 1/8-inch collets or tool holders accepting a 1/8-inch shank. Fits within the Miniature series of solid carbide end mills for small-diameter applications.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully powered down and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully and evenly in the collet and torque the collet nut to the tool holder specification before operation. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before use, as micrograin carbide tips at this diameter are susceptible to chipping from improper handling. Follow the machine tool and collet manufacturer guidelines for runout tolerances when working at diameters under 0.050 inches.
