The ACCUPRO 12465449 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in tight geometries and small-feature work. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this single-end tool features a 0.025-inch cutting diameter and a 0.038-inch length of cut (LOC), making it well suited for fine detail passes, 3D contouring, and small-radius profiling. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in challenging materials. Two flutes provide adequate chip clearance while maintaining core strength at this scale. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles.
The 12465449 is intended for applications requiring fine detail in hardened or non-hardened metals, plastics, and composites. Its miniature series designation and stub length configuration offer rigidity when working in shallow pockets or engraving operations. The 1/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are conventional for most vertical machining center setups. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate is appropriate for dry cutting or light coolant applications where coating buildup would risk edge chipping at this small diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles accepting a 1/8-inch shank collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder and torque the collet nut per the tool-holder manufacturer specifications. At this diameter, excessive runout will cause premature tool failure - verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting.
