The ACCUPRO 12464052 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in tight tolerances and small-feature applications. With a 0.0240-inch cutting diameter and a 0.0720-inch length of cut, this tool is built for detail work where accuracy is non-negotiable. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and edge integrity at small diameters. An AlTiN coating adds thermal protection, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. Four flutes deliver efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers specify this mill for finishing passes and contoured surfaces in mold, die, and precision component work.
This end mill is suited for high-speed CNC machining centers handling small-scale work in ferrous metals, stainless steel, titanium, and hardened alloys. The 30-degree helix angle balances cutting aggressiveness with tool stability at miniature diameters. Single-end construction and a right-hand cutting and flute direction make it a standard fit for conventional CNC setups. The 1/8-inch shank accommodates common collet and toolholder systems used in precision shops. Typical applications include mold cavities, intricate die details, and small-part contouring where larger tools cannot reach.
Designed as an OEM-style precision cutting tool for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles accepting a 1/8-inch shank collet or toolholder.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine control in a safe state. Secure the 1/8-inch shank in a properly sized collet or toolholder, ensuring runout is within the shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0003 inches to prevent premature tool failure at this diameter. Verify programmed feeds, speeds, and depth of cut are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cut. Handle miniature carbide tooling carefully to avoid edge chipping from contact with hard surfaces.
