The ACCUPRO 12464018 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers hardness and heat resistance suited for cutting ferrous alloys, hardened steels, and similar difficult materials. The ball-nose geometry produces contoured and radiused features with consistent accuracy. At 0.0130 inches in diameter and 0.0390 inches length of cut, this tool is engineered for fine-detail work where standard-size end mills cannot reach. CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this product.
This end mill suits CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles where miniature feature cutting is required. Typical applications include mold and die work, prototype machining, and finish-pass operations on complex 3D contoured surfaces. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during fine passes. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and toolholders used across most benchtop and full-size CNC mills handling miniature tooling. Single-end construction means the tool is replaced rather than flipped when worn.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill compatible with CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter collet or toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the collet. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm concentricity, as runout errors at this diameter will have a significant effect on tool life and surface finish. Follow the machine manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for miniature carbide tooling and the specific workpiece material being cut.
