The ACCUPRO 12463572 is a miniature ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in tight geometries and small-feature applications. Ground from solid micrograin carbide, this single-end tool measures 0.018 inches in cutting diameter with a 0.054-inch length of cut (LOC) and a 30-degree helix angle. The ball nose profile generates smooth contoured surfaces in metals, plastics, and composites. With a 1/8-inch shank diameter and 1.5-inch overall length, it mounts in standard collet chucks and tool holders commonly used on CNC machining centers and miniature mills. Installation and operation are handled by machinists and CNC programmers working in tool and die, mold making, medical device, and aerospace applications.
This end mill is suited for finishing passes and fine-detail work in miniature and micro-machining environments. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand spiral flute configuration support conventional and climb milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The uncoated bright finish makes it appropriate for use in aluminum, brass, and other non-ferrous materials, as well as softer steels where coating is not required. Its regular-length body keeps deflection minimal at this small diameter, supporting dimensional accuracy on small-scale features and slots.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8-inch collet or tool holder systems accepting standard straight-shank tooling.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holding system is clean and free of debris before inserting the shank. Torque collet nuts according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. At 0.018-inch diameter, this tool is highly susceptible to breakage from excessive feed rates, runout, or improper clamping — verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting.
