The ACCUPRO 12462305 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.017-inch cutting diameter and a 0.051-inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work, micro-slot cutting, and tight-tolerance profiling. The micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and edge retention that high-speed steel cannot match at this scale. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The bright, uncoated finish makes this end mill well suited to non-ferrous metals, plastics, and graphite where coating adhesion can cause edge buildup. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill fits applications where small-feature geometry is required, including mold and die work, printed circuit board component pocketing, medical device component machining, and fine detail engraving on metal or plastic. The 0.125-inch shank diameter accepts standard ER or precision collet systems. The 1.5-inch overall length provides adequate clearance for most benchtop CNC and vertical machining center setups. Its single-end configuration and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC milling programs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 0.125-inch collet and ER collet toolholding systems used in CNC vertical machining centers and benchtop mills.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state. Torque the collet nut to the toolholder specification using the appropriate spanner wrenches — never use a hammer or improper leverage on micro-diameter tooling. At 0.017 inches diameter, this end mill is extremely fragile; inspect runout with a dial indicator before cutting and confirm the collet is clean and free of chips or burrs. Program conservative feed and speed values for initial cuts and verify chip load calculations before running unattended.
