The ACCUPRO 12277149 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of tight-geometry features in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. With a 0.024-inch cutting diameter and four flutes, it delivers fine surface finishes and controlled chip evacuation in demanding small-part applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the edge integrity required when working at reduced diameters where tool deflection and breakage are primary concerns. A 30-degree helix angle balances cutting forces and chip flow in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals operating CNC mills, machining centers, and precision manual mills.
This end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in mold and die work, medical component machining, aerospace detail parts, and other small-scale precision machining applications. The miniature series designation reflects its geometry and shank configuration, making it appropriate for high-RPM spindles and micro-machining setups. The 1/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems used in precision machining centers. The single-end design means it is replaced rather than reindexed at end of life.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for use in standard 1/8-inch collet chucks and compatible toolholders on CNC machining centers and precision mills requiring reduced-diameter tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with tool runout tolerances and collet torque procedures for small-diameter carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the 1/8-inch shank to avoid tool deflection or premature breakage. Carbide end mills at this diameter are brittle and should not be used for interrupted cuts or plunge milling without appropriate programming feeds and speeds. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when handling and setting micro-diameter tooling.
