The ACCUPRO 12277141 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in tight tolerances and small-feature applications. The cutting diameter is 0.0160 inches with a 0.0240-inch length of cut, making it suited for fine detail work in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers the rigidity and edge retention required in CNC milling environments. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the bright uncoated finish keeps the tool geometry sharp from the start. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in tool and die, medical device, mold, and aerospace applications are the primary users of this tool.
This miniature ball end mill is used in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers where small-radius contours, 3D surface profiling, and slot milling in confined areas are required. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems commonly used in high-speed spindle setups. Typical applications include finishing passes on complex contour surfaces, engraving, and micro-feature milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The single-end configuration provides a straightforward setup with no need to flip or reindex the tool.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle systems accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut to the spindle manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the first cut, as tool deflection at this diameter is critical to both tool life and part accuracy.
