The ACCUPRO 12276910 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.0170-inch cutting diameter and a 0.0510-inch length of cut, this tool is built for small-feature work where dimensional accuracy is critical. The micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance at the cutting edge. Four spiral flutes in a right-hand cutting, right-hand flute direction provide efficient chip evacuation during finish and semi-finish passes. A 30-degree helix angle balances cutting forces across the flute length. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers handling micro-machining, die-and-mold work, or intricate part geometries rely on tools in this class.
This end mill is suited for precision CNC milling operations where small radii, fine detail, or confined pocket work is required. The miniature series designation identifies it for micro-scale applications common in medical device, aerospace component, and instrumentation part machining. The 0.0510-inch length of cut limits engagement depth, which is standard practice at this diameter to reduce deflection and maintain accuracy. The bright/uncoated finish makes it suitable for a range of materials where coating is not required or where regrinding after use is anticipated.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers and precision milling machines accepting a 1/8-inch round shank toolholder or collet.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and spindle fully stopped. Secure the 1/8-inch shank in a collet or end mill holder rated for the shank diameter tolerance range specified for this tool. At 0.0170-inch diameter, runout control at the toolholder is critical — verify TIR with a dial indicator before commencing a cut. Follow your shop's standard lockout/tagout procedure before any tool change.
