The ACCUPRO 12185322 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, slots, and three-dimensional profiles. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter and a 1-inch length of cut, this tool delivers aggressive material removal with tight dimensional control. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a wide range of workpiece materials. Four flutes provide a balance of rigidity and feed rate capability. The double-end configuration doubles usable tool life, making it a practical choice for high-volume machining environments. Machinists and toolroom operators rely on this geometry for finish passes and semi-finish contouring on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This ball end mill is suited for milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites in both job shop and production settings. The uncoated solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for applications where coating compatibility or re-grinding without coating removal is a consideration. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal milling setups. The 4-inch overall length provides sufficient reach for most standard fixturing arrangements without excessive overhang.
Designed as a standard-shank replacement or new-application ball end mill for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter via collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the 0.5-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for runout before commencing the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and reduce surface finish quality.
