The ACCUPRO 12185267 is a double-end, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It carries a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 0.625 inch length of cut, and a 3.0 inch overall length with a 0.5 inch shank. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance, making this tool well-suited for high-speed and dry machining conditions. A 45-degree helix angle with spiral fluting promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Five flutes deliver a fine surface finish and improved material removal rates compared to standard four-flute geometry. Micrograin carbide substrate supports edge retention in demanding applications.
This end mill is appropriate for machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened alloys. The stub-length profile increases rigidity and reduces deflection in tight-tolerance work. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry, expanding its use to slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match standard spindle rotation on most milling equipment. The double-end configuration provides a second cutting end, extending tool life and reducing per-edge cost in production environments.
Designed for use in standard 0.5 inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines. Mill diameter tolerance is +0.000 / -0.002 inches; shank diameter tolerance is -0.0001 / -0.0004 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the shank to the recommended minimum engagement depth. Verify spindle runout with a dial indicator before committing to finish passes, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute carbide tooling. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when changing or indexing cutting tools.
