The ACCUPRO 12185197 is a double-end, four-flute square end mill ground from solid micrograin carbide. It carries a 3/16-inch cutting diameter and a 3/8-inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and light pocketing operations in confined spaces. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a range of workpiece materials. With an overall length of 2 inches and a matching 3/16-inch shank diameter, the tool fits standard collet and end mill holders without adapters. The bright, uncoated finish leaves the carbide substrate exposed for applications where coating buildup or heat sensitivity is a concern.
This stub-length end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and benchtop CNC routers where short reach and rigidity are priorities. Its double-end configuration doubles usable tool life before the cutter is retired, offering a practical cost advantage in high-volume shops. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle-up milling setups. The centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into material, supporting ramping and helical interpolation entry strategies without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for standard 3/16-inch collet chucks, ER collet systems, and end mill holders used in CNC and manual milling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the full recommended grip length before operation. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits prior to cutting, as excessive runout accelerates carbide edge wear and can cause tool breakage. Always verify feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
