The ACCUPRO 12185189 is a double-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN (titanium carbonitride), it delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. The stub-length design provides added rigidity, reducing deflection during aggressive cuts. With a 4-flute spiral configuration and a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill produces smooth finishes while evacuating chips efficiently. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. CNC machinists, tool-and-die makers, and manual mill operators install this tool in standard collet chucks or end mill holders.
This end mill suits a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous material applications including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum alloys. The 0.1575-inch (4 mm) cutting diameter and 0.315-inch length of cut make it well suited for fine detail work, slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where tight tolerances and small-diameter tooling are required. The double-end design provides two usable cutting ends, extending the service life per tool. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional milling machine spindle rotation.
Designed for use in standard collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, or end mill holders accepting a 4 mm (0.1575-inch) shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as micrograin carbide is sensitive to excessive runout, which can cause premature chipping.
