The ACCUPRO 12185070 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this double-end tool features a 40-degree helix angle with spiral fluting and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that resists heat and extends cutting life in ferrous and hardened materials. The 0.125-inch diameter with a 0.25-inch length of cut makes it well-suited for fine slot milling, profiling, and contouring in tight geometries. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This stub-length end mill is intended for applications requiring rigidity and minimal deflection in small-diameter cutting. The short overall length of 1.5 inches and stub length-of-cut reduce vibration in high-speed finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar hard materials. The AlTiN finish performs well in dry or near-dry cutting environments where heat buildup is a primary concern. It is commonly used in mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and precision part production where tight tolerances are required.
Designed as a standard 0.125-inch shank end mill compatible with collet-style and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines that accept 0.125-inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention nut or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools and increases the risk of breakage.
