The ACCUPRO 12185037 is a double-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it carries an AlTiN finish that supports higher cutting temperatures and extended tool life in dry or minimal-lubrication applications. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 9/32-inch (0.2813-inch) milling diameter and a 3/8-inch shank, this tool fits standard collet and end mill holders found in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry into a workpiece.
This end mill suits general-purpose slotting, profiling, and contouring operations typical in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments. The double-end design provides a second cutting end, extending usable tool life per unit. The regular-length geometry with an 11/16-inch length of cut and 3-1/2-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid in setups where deflection must be minimized. Machinists and CNC operators working with steel, stainless, and hardened materials will find the AlTiN coating and micrograin carbide substrate well suited to moderate-to-high cutting speeds.
Designed to fit standard 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and ER collet chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills that accept straight-shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates carbide tool wear.
