The ACCUPRO 12184998 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for roughing and finishing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This 4-flute, single-end tool features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 2.25 inch length of cut, and a 5 inch overall length with a matching 3/4 inch shank diameter. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in high-speed applications. A 40 degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, and the integrated chipbreaker geometry reduces cutting forces during aggressive roughing passes. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by machinists and tool and die professionals.
This end mill is built for long-reach milling applications where a standard-length tool cannot access the full depth of a pocket or slot. The long length configuration and chipbreaker flute design make it effective for roughing out material at elevated feed rates before transitioning to a finish pass in the same operation. It handles steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar hard materials where AlTiN coating performance is an advantage. Typical install environments include production machine shops, tool rooms, and aerospace or die-mold operations requiring reliable multi-pass stock removal.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank collet or end mill holder. Compatible with standard ER collet chucks, Weldon-style holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems sized for 3/4 inch shank tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify holder runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Confirm that cutting parameters — speed, feed, and depth of cut — are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity before engaging the tool.
