The ACCUPRO 12184897 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, 3D profiles, and finish passes in ferrous and hardened materials. At 0.1875 inches in diameter with a 1.125-inch length of cut, this single-end tool runs a 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry at a 40-degree helix angle. The micrograin carbide substrate and AlTiN coating deliver heat resistance and edge retention in demanding cutting environments. The extra-long 3-inch overall length suits deep-cavity and extended-reach applications where a standard-length tool cannot access the workpiece.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running ferrous alloys, stainless steels, hardened tool steels, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. The AlTiN coating performs well in dry or near-dry cutting conditions where heat generation is a concern. The extra-long configuration makes it a practical choice for mold and die work, deep pocket milling, and multi-axis contouring operations where reach is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tool for CNC milling machines accepting a 3/16-inch round shank end mill.
Installation is performed by a CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading tooling. Seat the 3/16-inch shank securely in a compatible collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as runout is particularly critical with small-diameter ball end mills.
