The ACCUPRO 12184874 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hardened material applications. Built with a 0.375-inch diameter and four flutes, it delivers a smooth finish and efficient chip evacuation in both roughing and finishing passes. The 40-degree helix angle promotes aggressive yet controlled cutting, reducing chatter and heat buildup at the cutting zone. Micrograin carbide construction provides the edge hardness and toughness required for demanding CNC machining environments. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with right-hand flute direction and no chipbreaker geometry.
This ball end mill is suited for 3D contouring, profiling, and slotting operations on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. The long-length configuration, with a 1.125-inch length of cut and 3.0-inch overall length, allows access to deeper pockets and complex part geometries that standard-length tools cannot reach. It is commonly installed by machinists and tooling specialists in job shops, aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing facilities where tight tolerances and consistent tool life are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for CNC machining centers accepting a 0.375-inch round shank with a shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches. Compatible with standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 3/8-inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC tool assembly procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the clamping mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and runout with a dial indicator before commencing a new operation to verify proper seating and minimize tool deflection.
