The ACCUPRO 12184857 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.75 inch diameter cutting head with a 1 inch length of cut and a 4-flute spiral geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The 40-degree helix angle improves cutting performance on harder materials by reducing heat buildup and chatter. A TiCN coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. This end mill is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, offering rigidity and edge retention beyond what high-speed steel tooling can provide. It is a single-end tool with a 0.75 inch shank diameter and a 3 inch overall length.
This end mill is suited for milling contoured surfaces, slots, pockets, and complex 3D profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloy steels, stainless steel, and hardened materials. The ball nose profile makes it the standard choice for finish passes on curved or ramped surfaces in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. It is typically installed and run by machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and knee mills accepting a 0.75 inch shank diameter via ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or shrink-fit tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following standard tooling setup procedures. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before initiating a cut. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before tool changes. Refer to the tool manufacturer cutting data or machining handbook for appropriate speeds and feeds based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
