The ACCUPRO 12184699 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. Built from micrograin carbide stock and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers heat resistance and edge retention under high-speed and dry-cutting conditions. The ball-nose profile generates contoured, 3D, and profiling cuts with consistent surface finish. At 0.6875 inches (11/16 inches) in diameter with a 4-flute configuration and a 40-degree right-hand spiral helix, this tool suits machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC vertical machining centers or milling machines where chip evacuation and rigidity are both priorities.
This end mill is configured as a single-end tool with a 3/4-inch shank diameter and 1.5 inches of length of cut, providing ample reach for cavity work, die profiling, and contour passes. It is suited to production and job-shop environments handling medium-to-hard steels, stainless alloys, and titanium grades where the AlTiN coating extends tool life compared to uncoated or TiN-coated alternatives. Right-hand cutting direction supports conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 3/4-inch shank ball end mill tooling in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting ER, end-mill holder, or similar 3/4-inch bore tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank in a properly torqued end-mill holder or collet chuck before spindle operation — never run a tool with insufficient clamping force. Verify runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Consult the machine manufacturer's spindle speed and feed guidelines for carbide tooling in the target workpiece material; AlTiN-coated carbide typically supports higher surface footage than HSS, but appropriate parameters depend on machine rigidity and material hardness.
