The ACCUPRO 12184693 is a single-end ball end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for high-speed cutting passes in hardened and abrasive materials. The cutting edge measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch length of cut, a 3.5-inch overall length, and a 0.625-inch shank diameter. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The AlTiN coating provides thermal protection and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting environments. Four spiral flutes provide smooth cutting action across finish and semi-finish milling operations. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This ball end mill is suited for contour milling, 3D profiling, slotting, and finishing passes on ferrous metals, stainless steels, high-temperature alloys, and other hard materials. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills running conventional spindle rotation. Its micrograin carbide substrate and AlTiN coating make it particularly effective in applications where heat buildup is a concern and where tool life directly impacts cycle time and part cost.
Designed as a standard 0.625-inch shank ball end mill compatible with CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and toolholders accepting a 0.625-inch round shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool from any toolholder. Seat the shank fully into a properly sized collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
