The ACCUPRO 12184616 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and other hard materials. With a 0.25-inch mill diameter and a 0.75-inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers consistent performance in finish profiling, contouring, and 3D surface work. The 4-flute configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it holds tighter tolerances and resists wear longer than high-speed steel alternatives. The uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where coating buildup or adhesion is a concern. Machinists and toolroom operators rely on this geometry for accurate radius work and fine surface finishes.
This ball end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for contouring, slotting, and profiling cuts that require a full-radius tip. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction suit standard spindle configurations. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace component finishing, and precision part production where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 1/4-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in both production and job shop environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/4-inch shank ball end mill applications using collets, end mill holders, or shrink-fit tooling in CNC machining centers and knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended gauge length to prevent runout and premature tool failure. Verify collet condition and holder concentricity before securing, as worn holding systems will reduce tool life and surface finish quality.
