The ACCUPRO 12184558 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and high-temperature alloys. Measuring 0.0781 inches in diameter with a 0.25-inch length of cut, it is built for tight-tolerance finishing passes, contouring, and slotting operations where a small-radius profile is required. The four-flute geometry paired with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a smooth surface finish. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments by providing oxidation resistance and reducing friction at the cutting edge. Micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed for demanding applications in tool-and-die, mold making, and precision machining.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and high-speed milling operations where small-diameter tooling is required. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems commonly used in benchtop and full-size vertical machining centers. The 1.5-inch overall length allows for adequate reach without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. Single-end configuration means the cutting geometry is concentrated at one end, making it straightforward to index and replace. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling setups on most CNC platforms.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide ball end mill for CNC vertical machining centers and milling machines equipped with 1/8-inch collet or tool holder systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, as small-diameter carbide tools are susceptible to breakage under side load or improper runout.
