The ACCUPRO 12184428 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, profiling, and 3D surface work on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool carries a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive cutting conditions. With a 0.5 inch diameter, a 0.625 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill provides a good balance of chip evacuation and surface finish in medium-to-high-speed applications.
This end mill suits production shops and toolrooms running steel, stainless, cast iron, and hardened materials where a TiCN-coated carbide tool is appropriate. The 0.5 inch shank diameter mounts directly into standard ER, straight-bore, or shrink-fit toolholders. The right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute geometry makes it compatible with conventional CNC milling setups. It is sold as a single-end tool, meaning when the cutting end is worn, the tool is replaced rather than flipped.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended depth in the toolholder and torque the collet nut or retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to avoid premature edge chipping.
