The ACCUPRO 12184420 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, slotting, and profiling operations on hardened and abrasion-resistant workpiece materials. It features a 0.1875-inch (3/16-inch) mill diameter, a 0.375-inch length of cut, and a 2-inch overall length. Constructed from solid micrograin carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool delivers extended tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Machinists and toolroom professionals use this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills where close-tolerance 3D surface work is required.
This end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous metals, stainless steels, titanium alloys, and hardened tool steels where AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance. The 3-flute geometry balances chip clearance with surface finish quality, making it a practical choice for small-radius contour work and die-and-mold applications. The right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. The 3/16-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and toolholders in that size range.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines equipped with standard 3/16-inch collets or toolholders. Suitable for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and titanium alloys where AlTiN-coated solid carbide tooling is specified.
This tool is installed by machinists in properly rated CNC or manual milling setups. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of runout before seating the shank. Apply appropriate clamping torque to the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Always confirm spindle speed and feed rate against the tool manufacturer cutting data for the specific workpiece material before engaging the cut.
