The ACCUPRO 12184408 is a single-end ball end mill designed for 3D contouring, slotting, and finishing passes in hardened and abrasive materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention well beyond high-speed steel tooling. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating adds thermal resistance and reduces friction at the cutting zone, extending tool life in ferrous materials, stainless steel, and hardened alloys. This end mill is specified by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC programmers running production or prototype work on vertical machining centers and similar equipment.
This tool suits applications in mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and general metalworking where a ball-nose profile is required for blended surfaces or radiused floors. The 0.6875-inch cutting diameter and 1.5-inch length of cut accommodate moderate-depth pocketing and finishing passes in a range of workpiece materials. The 3/4-inch straight shank fits standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders in that bore size. Right-hand cutting direction with right-hand spiral flutes is compatible with conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch shank diameter. Suitable for vertical machining centers and CNC mills running right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended gauge-line depth in the holder and torque retention screws or collet nuts to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality.
