The ACCUPRO 12184403 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. With a 0.625 inch mill diameter and a 1.25 inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers consistent performance in profiling, contouring, and 3D surface work. The 3-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a strong tool body. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and rigidity suited to demanding cutting conditions. Installed by machinists and toolroom professionals, this end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills with compatible spindle toolholding.
This end mill is suited for use in production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and smooth surface finishes are required. The ball nose profile makes it well suited for 3D contouring, cavity work, and radius blending on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coating compatibility with the workpiece material or cutting fluid is a consideration. The right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed as a standard single-end ball nose end mill with a 5/8 inch straight shank, compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 5/8 inch shank tooling on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following machine tool safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear and degrades surface finish.
