The ACCUPRO 12184397 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of materials. With a 0.5 inch diameter and a 1 inch length of cut, this three-flute tool delivers smooth surface finishes and efficient chip evacuation in finish and semi-finish milling passes. The 40-degree helix angle promotes aggressive cutting action while reducing cutting forces, making it well suited for contour milling, die and mold work, and complex 3D profiling on CNC machining centers. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance required for ferrous and non-ferrous applications alike. Weighing 0.25 pounds, the tool ships as a single-end configuration with a 0.5 inch shank and a 3 inch overall length.
This end mill is intended for use in professional CNC machining environments where tight tolerances and repeatable surface quality are required. The uncoated finish makes it appropriate for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and graphite where coatings may cause adhesion issues. Machinists working in job shops, toolrooms, and production facilities will find this tool effective for slotting, profiling, and contouring passes where a ball nose geometry is required. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand spiral fluting are consistent with standard CNC spindle configurations.
Designed as a standard single-end ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 0.5 inch round shank tooling via collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended grip depth in the tool holder to minimize runout and prevent tool pullout during cutting. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run.
