The ACCUPRO 12184352 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineered plastics. The ball nose profile generates contoured, 3D, and profiled surfaces with consistent geometry across the cut. Built from micrograin carbide, it holds a sharp cutting edge longer than standard carbide grades. At 0.2656 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool is suited for tight-tolerance finish passes and light-to-medium roughing in small-bore and detailed workpiece features. Installation is performed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is applicable to CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring a small-diameter ball nose tool. The 5/16-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock collet systems. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the industry-standard orientation for conventional and climb milling. With three flutes and a spiral flute form, it provides a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. Typical applications include die and mold profiling, aerospace component contouring, and fine-feature machining in ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16-inch shank diameter in standard collet or end mill holder systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth and torque the retention device per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as micrograin carbide is brittle under lateral impact.
