The ACCUPRO 12184348 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, profiling, and finishing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.2344-inch (15/64 inch) cutting diameter, a 3-flute spiral geometry, and a solid micrograin carbide construction that delivers rigidity and edge retention in demanding cutting environments. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. A 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during aggressive passes. This end mill is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators across manufacturing and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC machining centers handling finish profiling, slotting, and complex curved surface work. With a 0.75-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length, it is well-matched to shallow-to-moderate-depth cavity and contour work. The 0.25-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER and end mill holders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The AlTiN coating makes it particularly effective in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting scenarios involving hardened steels, stainless alloys, and cast iron.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/4-inch shank ball end mills used in CNC vertical machining centers, mills, and multi-axis machining platforms requiring a 15/64-inch ball nose cutting diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware according to the holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate edge wear and reduce surface finish quality.
