The ACCUPRO 12184327 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precise contouring, slotting, and 3D profiling in machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for consistent performance in demanding cutting conditions. The tool features a 0.125-inch diameter, a 0.5-inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extends tool life when cutting ferrous and hardened materials. With three flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, this end mill balances cutting speed with surface finish quality.
This ball end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and milling machines used in tool-and-die, mold making, aerospace component work, and precision part manufacturing. The 0.125-inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common in both vertical and horizontal machining setups. At 1.5 inches overall length, it is appropriate for shallow-to-moderate reach applications where rigidity must be maintained. Machinists working with steel alloys, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys will find the AlTiN coating particularly suited to dry or minimal-lubrication cutting strategies.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for CNC mills and machining centers accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter via collet, shrink-fit, or end mill holder tooling systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout on small-diameter end mills accelerates tool wear and can cause breakage.
