The ACCUPRO 12184278 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) cutting diameter and a 1 inch length of cut, this long-series end mill handles contour milling, die work, and 3D profiling where extended reach is needed. The 2-flute geometry paired with a 40-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention required for close-tolerance finishing passes. Installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool and die, and production milling environments.
This end mill suits CNC machining centers and manual mills where a single-end, right-hand cutting tool is required. The long-series 4 inch overall length provides clearance for deep pockets, cavity work, and mold contour finishing. The 3/16 inch straight shank fits standard collet chucks and ER-style toolholders. Micrograin carbide construction makes this tool appropriate for hardened steels, stainless alloys, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys where a coated tool improves performance over uncoated alternatives.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank in standard collet or ER-style toolholding systems.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 3/16 inch shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools and degrades surface finish.
